SETTINGS FOR BEGINNERS

Probably you have bought an advanced digital camera and he can really "everything"! If you can the same is another story ...
The following settings are useful if you're not known with digital photography. These advices can help you to avoid disappointments.

Read the manual of your camera about these topics! If you want more explanation why a setting is advised, you can use the menu on the left side.

RESOLUTION: 1600x1200 pixel
This is enough to print pictures of 4x6 inch (10x15 cm). If you are sure that there is enough space on your memory card, you can choose a higher resolution.

QUALITY (compression): Super fine / extra high
Choose the best available quality and never change it!

SHOOTING MODE: Auto
The white balance, exposure, flash and other difficult cases would be calculated automatically by your camera. The only weakness is that you cannot take photos in all circumstances.
Has your camera special scene shooting modes? You can also use them. The most common modes are: indoor, portrait, people, snow, nature, beach, night shot.

FOCUS (focus): Automatic (AF) focus off
If it is possible, choose a focus point that is always in the middle of the view. In that case, usually appears a rectangle, a circle or a cross exactly at the middle of the (LCD) screen of your camera.

FLASH: auto + red eye correction
This is usually a default setting if you choose the auto shooting mode.

ISO - VALUE and WHITE BALANCE: auto
Usually these are the default settings, if you choose the auto shooting mode.

DIGITAL ZOOM: off
For high quality photos use only the optical zoom. Go closer to your subject, or cut the photo using an image editing software later.
