MACRO (CLOSE-UP)

It is almost always surprising to observe little details. You can take close-up pictures of practically everything. If you are crazy about nature, flowers, plants and insects are ideal, but even everyday objects can look fascinating when viewed up close.
Typical for macro photos is the limited depth of field: only a small part of the image is sharp, the background is blurred.

There are two ways to capture details. The best known is called the 'macro' mode. Some compact cameras has also a super macro mode: you can shoot from 0 cm from the subject! Check the manual of your device.
Less known, but similar effective, is the technique using the optical zoom. You need to have a large zoom range (> 5x).

Mostly, you should also use a tripod to prevent motion blur. A small movement of your device can guarantee that your subject would not be sharp enough. Note also, that the lens of your camera can cause shadows on your subject. Choose your background carefully to reduce disturbing.
