PANORAMA EN HIGH DEFINITION PHOTO`S
A panoramapicture is not only beautiful but also offers a perspective that is more in line with the vision of our eyes. It is an ideal way to capture a beautiful landscape. It compares with a widescreen photo but it is even wider.
A panorama does not need to be horizontal. If you cannot apply a high subject in your picture, you can make a vertical panorama. With the same principle you can also create HD pictures. It is a kind of matrix recording, where you subject is divided into several sections. This results a photo which ultimately contains more details (high definition).
There are two important things to create a panorama of HD recording. First, make sure that the images have a enough overlap. The second, the exposure of each photo need to be the same. That means, the three `s value which determine the exposure,
the shutter speed, the aperture and
the iso-value of each recording should be similar. Compact cameras have mostly a panorama mode. Please notice that in that case the first photo should decide the exposure of the whole scene!
For beautiful panorama the use of a tripod is recommended. If you have a stable hand and a good panoramasoftware, you can taking pictures out of hand. If you do not use a tripod, keep in your mind that around you subject need to be some free space. Otherwise your software may not work correctly.
The software, that will merge your photos into a panorama, is very important. Often softwares are supplied with the camera, but it can probably merge no matrix images together and the possibilities are very limited. Personally, I can warmly recommend the software PTGui. This pastes everything incredibly well together, even hand-made photos or images with different exposure.
PROCEDURE COMPACT CAMERA:
- change if necessary the iso-value and the white balance
- adjust the panorama mode
- follow the instructions and use enough overlap
- if necessary, use a tripod
PROCEDURE FOR ADVANCED CAMERAS:
- change if necessary, the iso-value and white balance
- do light metering at various points of your scene
- set manually the best shutter speed in the manual mode (M)
- take photos with sufficient overlap
- if necessary, use a tripod
