NATURAL FRAMES
One of the most effective ways to a structured composition is to frame your subject. Overhanging branches, natural windows, rock arches, architectural elements and natural frames can be effective to get a nice scene.
The result is successful, as in case of any other (composite) elements, when you use it in moderation and in combination with an original perspective.
A natural frame leads your attention into the inside of the scene. The frame gives a sense of depth. The frame can also be used to cover uninteresting areas, such as an (over-exposed) air.
Always remember, what is the subject of your picture and what is the function of the frame: is it only a silhouette to strengthen an effect, or is it an essential part of the scene? In that case you need to pay attention to the correct exposure.
